Happy Birthday, Rona Shively!

Today is a special day! Not only is it the birthday of my favorite character in the world, it is the day I decided to bite the proverbial bullet and publish the first chapter of the eleventh book in the series on Kindle Vella, The Harder They Fall! I struggled with the idea for a while, but then realized that there was no better way to get myself in gear than to just jump right in and start sharing. I realize that for those who’ve never read Rona, there will be some big spoilers in book 11, but I’m hoping it won’t deter them from going back to read the earlier books. Consider them a prequel to a new era for Rona. She’s 55 today, so why not throw caution to the wind?

It will be good to have her back! I’ll have the link for you soon. It’s being processed as we speak, so in the meantime, if you haven’t caught up on books one through ten, now would be a great time. All are available in the HGBM Shop, on Amazon, and on Audible! http://www.highergroundbooksandmedia.com/shop

P.S. – Wishing a very happy birthday to my aunts Betty & Bonnie today! Hope they have a wonderful day! Ladies like these inspire me to keep writing empowering stories like the Rona Shively Stories. Love you ladies!

Big News~Rona is relocating!

Starting just the other day, the Rona Shively Stories is being re-released through Books from Higher Ground!  Rona’s publisher, Stonegarden.net will be closing its doors in September of this year and so, in order to ensure that Rona’s stories stay available, I have decided to re-release the books under my new publishing company, Books from Higher Ground!  This independent publishing company is not yet accepting book submissions from other authors, but plans to in the near future.  Until then, Books from Higher Ground is accepting submissions for its very first anthology until June 10th!  The anthology will feature stories about women who have either helped or hindered our progress.  We’re asking for your best 500 word story about a woman who has had a significant impact on your life; whether that be a good impact or a bad one.  Those selected will receive a free copy of the anthology.  All proceeds from the sale of this book will benefit Higher Ground Ministries.

It has long been my intention that the Rona Shively Stories would support the efforts of this women’s empowerment ministry.  Rona is a strong woman who has been through many challenges.  She’s the perfect woman to support Higher Ground and her stories are a great testimony about women overcoming obstacles.  If you haven’t already bought your copies, you can buy them at Amazon.com!  Both In the Wash and Under Lock and Key are now available for just $8.95 plus shipping.

If you have a story you would like to submit for the anthology, please send it to lonestoryteller@yahoo.com with the word, “Anthology” in the subject line.  We look forward to hearing your stories!

Things are going to start happening to me now…

or maybe not. All the same, I’ve got several irons in the fire. For one, I have a story that is being published in a new horror anthology in February of 2008 called From the Shadows. That’s the name of the anthology, my story is called, Eleven. I think it turned out nicely and I’m anxious to see if horror fans will enjoy it. You can pre-order your copy now by going to http://www.triadpublishinggroup.com.

For my mystery fans out there, I’m still hard at work on the third Rona Shively story. Title to be announced soon!

I’m also still working on the women’s self-esteem project, Reaching Higher Ground. I think I will have most of this finished by the end of the year. I had hoped for an earlier launch, however, things happen and sometimes you just have to adapt. 😉

In case you haven’t been to my websites lately, I have recently updated all of them to include a link to my newest page for my short romance, Hearts and Flowers. Hearts and Flowers was published several months ago as an Amazon Short and I only recently started thinking that maybe I should have given it its own web page. The story is very sweet and so unlike me, but I think its heartwarming tone is just right for the season. If you get a chance, check it out at http://www.alittleromance.homestead.com. I’ve posted a sneak peek at the story in hopes of selling copies of the entire download for a whopping $.49 on Amazon Shorts!

All of this while battling the cold that will not die! I seem to have picked up the worst little case of congestion and sinus pressure in my brief history. Bear with me as I try to think clearly through the fog of antihistamines and headache medicine. I promise, once this sinus pressure eases up, I’ll have something truly interesting to tell you.

Until next time…
